The history of the Gruet family dates back centuries and is closely linked to the town of Buxeuil in the most southern region of Champagne, Cotes des Bar. Whilst the history of Gruet can be traced to historical vineyard plots it was in 1975 that Claude Gruet produced his first Champagne cuvee. Their first production was of 2,500 bottles of champagne but the family are working on developing a 20 hectare vineyard as well as working co-operatively with local vineyards in order to fill ambitions of producing 2 million bottles per year.

Is Gruet champagne good? Gruet produce a traditional style champagne symbolic of stainless steel vat ageing that makes a fresh, light crisp youthful champagnes.
