The One was the first whisky released by The Lakes Distillery, based in Cumbria. When it was launched, The Lakes had only recently begun producing its own whisky, so the blend was created using whiskies sourced from around the British Isles. This allowed the distillery to establish The One as its signature whisky while its own spirit continued to mature.
The name The One reflects the idea of bringing different whiskies together to create one distinctive expression. The blend is known for its combination of sweet fruit, gentle smoke, nuttiness and spice, offering a style that is both approachable and characterful.
The One later developed into a wider collection of blended whiskies, with The Lakes Single Malt at the heart of newer releases and different cask finishes being used to explore the influence of oak on flavour.
Sweet fruit and gentle malt are complemented by delicate smoke and warming spice, with hints of toasted nuts adding extra depth. The palate is smooth and rounded, bringing together ripe orchard fruits, honey and soft vanilla alongside subtle smoky and spicy notes. A mellow finish leaves lingering fruit, gentle oak and a touch of warming spice.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
