Super Nikka was first introduced in 1962 by Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky and widely regarded as the father of Japanese whisky. The whisky was created as a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Rita Taketsuru, whose unwavering support helped him realise his dream of producing authentic whisky in Japan. Following Rita's passing in 1961, Masataka dedicated this premium blend to her memory, making Super Nikka one of the most meaningful expressions in the Nikka portfolio.
Super Nikka Rare Old is a distinguished Japanese blended whisky that embodies the craftsmanship and heritage of Nikka Whisky. Created from a carefully balanced blend of malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, together with high-quality grain whisky, this elegant expression is celebrated for its smooth, rounded character and exceptional depth of flavour. Rich yet approachable, Super Nikka Rare Old is equally enjoyable neat, over ice or with a splash of water.
Gentle aromas of ripe orchard fruits, vanilla and honey are layered with hints of toasted oak, soft spice and delicate floral notes. The palate is smooth and well-balanced, revealing flavours of caramel, dried fruit, creamy toffee and subtle chocolate, complemented by a touch of gentle smoke. The finish is long and mellow, leaving lingering notes of sweet malt, oak and warming spice.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
