Grey Goose was created in 1997 by American entrepreneur Sidney Frank, who wanted to develop a luxury vodka unlike anything then available. He partnered with French Cellar Master François Thibault, whose background in Cognac and expertise in spirits production helped shape the distinctive character and production methods of Grey Goose.
From the beginning, the philosophy was to create vodka that celebrated the flavour and quality of its ingredients rather than aiming simply for an entirely neutral spirit. Grey Goose uses just two ingredients: French soft winter wheat and spring water from Gensac-la-Pallue. The wheat is sourced from three farming cooperatives within 50 kilometres of the distillery, while the water comes from a natural aquifer beneath the blending facility in the Cognac region.
The production process remains entirely French. The wheat is milled at the distillery, fermented and then distilled just once through a five-stage continuous process using steel and copper columns. The resulting spirit is blended with the naturally limestone-filtered spring water before being lightly filtered and bottled.
Delicate floral aromas introduce a refined and inviting character, followed by a beautifully smooth palate with soft sweetness and a rounded texture. The quality of the French wheat gives the vodka a subtle richness rather than an entirely neutral profile, while hints of almond and fresh citrus add complexity. As the flavour develops, gentle warmth builds without overpowering the spirit, leading to the distinctive bold, slightly toffee-like finish associated with Grey Goose.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
