Clase Azul Ultra Extra Añejo represents the most mature expression in the brand's permanent tequila collection. The tequila is made from Blue Weber Agave grown in Los Altos de Jalisco, a highland region recognised for producing agave with distinctive character. The agave used for Clase Azul is allowed to mature for several years before harvesting, providing the foundation for the spirit's rich flavour profile.
The tequila spends five years ageing, beginning in American whiskey casks before being divided between different Spanish sherry casks. Oloroso, Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez casks each contribute their own characteristics before the tequila is brought back together. The combination introduces layers of dried fruit, nuts, cacao, spice and oak that would not be present in an unaged or younger tequila.
The presentation is equally distinctive. Ultra Extra Añejo comes in a sheer black ceramic decanter decorated with platinum, sterling silver and 24-karat gold. Clase Azul's artisans create the distinctive feathered platinum design by hand; because the platinum brushstrokes are only revealed after the ceramic is fired, the artisans paint the pattern from memory.
The decanter therefore forms an important part of the expression's identity, combining mature tequila with Mexican ceramic craftsmanship and precious-metal decoration.
Deep amber with copper highlights, the tequila opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet of dark chocolate, dried figs, ripe stone fruits and toasted hazelnuts, accompanied by rich oak and sherry notes. The palate is exceptionally full-bodied and silky, revealing layers of dried plum and other vine fruits alongside roasted nuts, cacao, cinnamon and clove. Subtle savoury umami develops beneath the sweetness, followed by mature oak, tobacco and leather-like nuances. The finish is exceptionally long and warming, with lingering dark chocolate, dried fruit, spice and caramelised walnut.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
