1800 Tequila is produced by a family with 10 generations of tequila-making heritage in Mexico. The brand takes its name from the period when tequila began gaining wider recognition beyond its traditional origins, while the family's long history of experimenting with oak helped inspire the aged expressions for which 1800 is known.
The brand has a particularly important place in tequila history. 1800 states that its Añejo was the first official 100% agave aged tequila, establishing a style that demonstrated how time spent in oak could add complexity and sophistication to tequila.
The production begins with mature Blue Weber Agave grown in Jalisco. The agave plants typically mature for six to eight years before the piñas are harvested by hand. After cooking, the agave is fermented in closed stainless-steel tanks using the producer's proprietary yeast before being double-distilled in copper pot stills.
For the Añejo, the spirit is aged for approximately 12–16 months in new American oak and French oak barrels. The high-char American oak contributes warmth and sweetness, while the French oak brings spice and structure. The resulting tequila combines the character of both barrel types with the underlying flavour of Blue Weber Agave.
Rich and inviting, 1800 Añejo opens with pronounced aromas of oak and vanilla, leading into a smooth and rounded palate filled with nutty flavours, creamy toffee and gentle caramel. Subtle oak spice adds complexity as the spirit develops, while the natural sweetness of cooked agave remains underneath the richer barrel-aged notes. The finish is warming and peppery, leaving a lingering combination of spice, toasted oak and mellow sweetness.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
