The best images are those that are head and shoulders or closer. The further out the less detail will be achieved. For larger groups we can still obtain a high level of detail when studied closely and can rely on how light reflects on the completed bottles.
What we do: No need to panic, we will happily crop, resize and edit your image
we resize your image to 5:4 ratio
We edit and remove the background details

Images in dark conditions can work, the further back the subject is, the less detail will be achieved. The people at the back of this example will have less detail than those at the front.
The example image has a lack of contrast as it is predominantly one colour. This would lead to a lack of definition in the engraving.
The extreme shadowing across the example image makes it unsuitable.
Images with snapchat filters may not be suitable.
Lighting is the most important aspect to achieving a great engraved image. The right image should have the subject in clear, well balanced, natural light. Images should contain lots of brightness and contrast, the more an image is in shadow, or the sunlight is behind the subject the less detail will be achieved.
Great image, even lit with lots of brightness and contrast
This image is in light shadow, we would achieve a good image. The more in shadow, the less detail achieved.
The light on this image is shining left to right obscuring people furthest left. We would achieve less detail on those to the left of this image.
The light on this image is behind the subjects placing them in shadow and offering no brightness or contrast. This image is unsuitable.
We can't accept photo collages as all of the images have varying levels of lighting and focus, meaning that everything would be a compromise.
Vintage images - these normally work really well as they are black and white and already work with brightness / contrast. One exception to this is older wedding images where there will be a lack of detail in veils.
Older / Non digital images - all of the lighting and composition factors matter. Early colour images may carry a lack of depth of colours. The quality of the copy is significant.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
