The heritage behind Nocturne is rooted in the enduring legacy of Taittinger, a house whose origins date back to 1734 and which has carried the Taittinger name since 1932, when Pierre Taittinger acquired the estate. To this day, it remains one of the few major Champagne houses still family-owned, preserving a philosophy centred on elegance, patience, and craftsmanship.
Like all Taittinger champagnes, Nocturne is aged in the historic chalk cellars beneath Reims, including those of the Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. These ancient underground galleries, carved centuries ago, offer ideal conditions for slow maturation. The wine rests here for several years, allowing its texture to soften and its complexity to deepen, resulting in a champagne of remarkable smoothness and integration.
Taittinger’s dedication to quality is further reflected in its extensive vineyard holdings across Champagne, ensuring control and consistency from grape to glass. The house is renowned for its Chardonnay-driven elegance, and even in a richer cuvée like Nocturne, this hallmark freshness remains present bringing lift and clarity to its more indulgent profile.
In the glass, it shimmers with a pale gold hue, illuminated by a delicate and persistent mousse. The bouquet is generous and inviting ripe white peach, dried apricot, and candied citrus rise effortlessly, layered with notes of brioche, honey, and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, Nocturne reveals its signature charm round, smooth, and beautifully textured. Flavours of caramelised fruit, golden raisins, and sweet spice are balanced by a refined freshness, creating a harmonious and lingering finish that feels both luxurious and composed.
This distinctive character is shaped by its “sec” dosage, making it slightly sweeter than a traditional brut, yet never overpowering. With a blend typically composed of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, and enriched by reserve wines, Taittinger Nocturne achieves a balance that is both opulent and precise perfectly suited to late evenings and celebratory nights.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
