Cloudy Bay was established in Marlborough in 1985 by David Hohnen and founding winemaker Kevin Judd. At the time, Marlborough was not yet the internationally recognised wine region it is today. Cloudy Bay's early Sauvignon Blanc quickly attracted attention around the world and played a major role in establishing New Zealand as a producer of distinctive, high-quality Sauvignon Blanc.
The vineyards used for Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc are concentrated in the heart of the Wairau Valley, including sites around Rapaura, Renwick and Brancott Valley. The area's coarse, free-draining gravelly soils and sunny yet relatively cool maritime climate are particularly well suited to Sauvignon Blanc, helping the grapes retain their natural acidity while developing intense aromas and flavours.
Bright and expressive from the first impression, this Sauvignon Blanc offers enticing aromas of white peach, elderflower, makrut lime and freshly squeezed lemon. The palate is crisp and layered, with lemon curd and white nectarine complemented by refreshing hints of sea salt and dune grass. Vibrant citrus acidity gives the wine energy and precision, while subtle mineral and herbal nuances add complexity. The finish is elegant, clean and persistent, leaving a refreshing citrus lift that makes this an exceptionally easy wine to enjoy.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
