Clos Saint André is owned by the Deville-Jouffron family, a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape family with a winemaking history stretching back to the 16th century. The family established itself permanently in the village around five generations ago, and the estate retains its historic underground cellar and original vines in the centre of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The vineyards are principally situated on some of the appellation's highest terraces of galets roulés the famous rounded stones characteristic of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vines average around 50 years of age, while some of the oldest Grenache vines are more than 70 years old. The combination of mature vines, poor soils and the region's warm, dry Mediterranean climate naturally produces relatively low yields and grapes with impressive concentration.
The grapes are harvested by hand, then destemmed and crushed before traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. A lengthy maceration of around two to three weeks helps extract colour, flavour and tannins. Following malolactic fermentation and final blending, the wine is aged in concrete tanks, allowing it to develop complexity while retaining the character of the fruit.
Deep red in colour with attractive orange highlights, Clos Saint André offers a powerful and expressive nose combining ripe kirsch and dark fruit with earthy humus and subtle leather notes. The palate is generous and full-bodied, with a silky texture that carries flavours of ripe berries, cherries and warming spice. Well-integrated tannins provide structure without overwhelming the fruit, while the finish is long, savoury and gently peppery, leaving a satisfying impression of classic Rhône character.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
