Krug Rosé was introduced in 1983, making it a relatively modern creation compared to the house’s long heritage dating back to 1843. Its development was driven by the desire to create a rosé champagne that maintained the same level of depth and complexity as Krug Grande Cuvée, rather than a lighter, more conventional style. The idea originated under the leadership of the Krug family, particularly Henri Krug, who sought to craft a rosé that could stand alongside the house’s most prestigious blends.
Unlike many rosé champagnes of its time, Krug Rosé was designed as a multi-vintage blend, incorporating wines from several different years along with a significant proportion of reserve wines from the house’s extensive library. A defining feature of its production is the inclusion of specially macerated Pinot Noir wines, which provide both its distinctive colour and structure an approach that set it apart stylistically.
Krug Rosé is aged for a minimum of around 5 to 7 years in cellars, far exceeding standard requirements for non-vintage rosé champagne, contributing to its richness and layered profile. In keeping with the house’s philosophy, each release is unique yet consistent in expression.
Following LVMH’s acquisition of Krug in 1999, the production of Krug Rosé continued with the same meticulous standards. In 2016, the house began identifying its rosé releases with edition numbers similar to Grande Cuvée offering greater transparency into the blend and its composition.
Today, Krug Rosé is regarded as one of the most distinctive and complex rosé champagnes in the world, known for redefining expectations of the category through innovation, patience, and uncompromising craftsmanship.
In the glass, it glows with a luminous pink hue, hinting at the richness within. The bouquet is captivating and layered aromas of wild strawberries, ripe raspberries, rose petals, and a touch of spice unfold alongside subtle notes of dried citrus and pastry. On the palate, it is both generous and precise: vibrant red fruits intertwine with hints of honey, almond, and delicate smoke, all carried by an exceptionally fine mousse and a refreshing, structured finish.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
